![]() The Creators have been busy on Twitter recently, posting some fresh sneak peeks of Islands both upcoming and unreleased. Here's a whopper: the Creators were once seriously considering a "Water Thrill Island"! Check out one of the scenes: Looks like we missed something that could have been very fun. The Creators said that it's only "rejected for now," but seeing that this island has a definite Summer theme, we'll be waiting for a while. One of the least likely things you'd consider that the Creators would have to puzzle over is the Island logos. Look at all the iterations they went through for the logos of Mission Atlantis, Arabian Nights, and Back Lot: Speaking of Arabian Nights, the first episode of that Island is coming out for Members tomorrow! Another thing we now know about the Creators is that they have some very talented artists; see these sketches of some scenes from Arabian Njghts: ![]() By the way, if you want the fastest news and coolest stuff about Poptropica, the best way is to follow me and the Creators on Twitter. It's better than just waiting on super-long blog posts like this one ;).Anyway, enough about that. The long-awaited Furniture update to Poptropica Land is here! Except it's not called furniture, it's called Props. The Creators did a great job of describing it, but in Props, you can drag in some pre-made items like doors and dressers (like the old Lands). They're unlocked by Poptanium. There's also a new menu interface on Lands to go with this. So, now you know where to find me for the next 2 hours :). Make something cool and send it in to the Creators, they might post it on their Twitter or on the Creators' Blog! And I'd love to see your creations too. That concludes this post from Poptrickia (finally)...

We've been wondering why the the iOS Poptropica App lacks the Poptropica Store and any advanced costumizing options, right? Well, not for long! The Creators are working on a cool addition to the Home World in the app that lets you buy new costumes and abilities. Check out the screenshots (these are Poptrickia's exclusive sneak peeks, so spoilers ahead!): There's a blimp in the town, and if you were on an island before entering, then there'll be that island's icon below the blimp for you to travel to. Here you can see two buildings, the "New You" and the Bundle Shop. By the way, wow, don't all these scenes from the Poptropica App look really quaint and cool?! I love the barbershop-themed store. In it, I assume the three pedestals will have three randomized, costumizable Poptropicans on it (which you can change by pulling the lever). Also, there's chair and a Colorizer sign to the left. And the Bundle Shop is probably like the regular Poptropica Store (but you use $'s instead of credits... hmm... could those be real-life American dollars or just another symbol for virtual Credits?) There's a bunch of categories to choose from, each with many items. So, keep an eye out for these cool new additions to the Poptropica App in the near future! UPDATE: Here's two more images (these are from the official sneak peeks). I bet clicking on the Colorizer brings up something like this. I'll keep this section updated as more sneak peeks come out!
Since I made this post, Arabian Nights has been confirmed by the Creators! Here's the info page. Keep reading though, there's a lot more sneak peeks here than you'll get from the official site. What's with the title? you're probably thinking. How Bazaar is going to be the name of the first episode of Arabian Nights Island. If you'll recall, Arabian Nights was the winner of the Create Your Own Dream Island contest, and by my predictions, it's going to come to life right after PoptropiCon! Warning: spoilers ahead. This is another one of Poptrickia's exclusive sneak peeks of unreleased islands, which I got by looking at Poptropica's files. By the way, what do you think of these sneak peeks? Awesome? Interesting? Creepy?
On Arabian Nights Island, Poptropicans go on a quest across the desert to rescue a sultan's genie from the Forty Thieves. So far, the only official word on the island is below; let's try to figure out how it fits with the first episode. First off, you start inside a cave. Definitely can't fly a blimp in there, but the blimp's been dead since Survival. I find this unlikely, so let's assume that you actually start in the desert. From the desert, you can get to the Cliffs, and from the Cliffs, into the Cave (or vice-versa). Here are the notes for the cliff and the cave: UPDATE: The near-complete versions of the Cave and Cliff scenes has been uploaded as well! Check them out: ![]() (Click to zoom). As you can see, it's not very complete, but an interesting insight into the Creators' design process. Zoom it in and you can get some hints for the island. Watch for the quicksand when the island comes out for real! Now it gets exciting: there's also a palace! Your goal for this episode seems to be to get into the palace, because it's guarded by two guards. Inside the palace is the sultan. As you can see in the picture, all is not well... ![]() The sultan's palace has been ransacked! Lots of precious things are gone (like his bed), but most of all, one very special lamp. Here's a conversation you have with him:
And now, to explain the title of this post. A bazaar is what you'd call a market in the Middle East (read: Arabia). There's going to be a Skullduggery trading post-style bazaar in Arabian Nights 1, with an inventory and everything. Check out these images, which show the items from the island inside images of the three different bazaar stalls you can visit. In the episode, you need to trade items you find for bazaar items. Notice the salt bag? You can find that in the Cave, seeing from the image above. And the telescope can be found on the palace minaret. So here's the deal. You start off with only the sultan's orders and the jewel, and go back and forth between the bazaar and other places to try and trade the lamp away from the bazaar people. In the meanwhile (or maybe this will tie in with a later episode), you try to find the hideout of the Forty Thieves in the Cave, Cliffs and Desert. Sounds like an exciting island, especially if it has more than the usual 3 episodes! UPDATE: It doesn't. I also found the Desert scene. It connects the Bazaar and the Cliffs. Here it is:
Comment if you can draw even more connections from this ragtag collection of sneak peeks. The official sneak peeks can help you a ton as well. Anyway, those are the preliminary findings! There's one item, the Camel Harness, that hasn't been uploaded yet, and obviously the Desert, Cave, and Cliffs need some work, so I'll keep this post updated until the day Arabian Nights 1 releases. In the meantime, you can play Survival 4, Mission Atlantis 3, PoptropiCon 1, and Land. Have fun! P.S. Guess what I just made? A Daily Pop Sneak Peek gallery! It automatically fills with the latest Daily Pops, lets you browse by month or date, loads fast (I mean really fast, considering it's 900+ files), and makes things a whole lot more convenient. Check it out!
Click here for Mission Atlantis Guide / Survival Island Guide ![]() Mission Atlantis episode 3 ("Out of the Blue") just released for Members, and Survival Island 4 ("Cabin Fever") is also here for non-Members and the Poptropica app. Atlantis 3 is the last episode of one of the most intriguing and exciting islands yet! I wonder if Poptropi-con will be this short? UPDATE: Mission Atlantis guide and video complete! ![]() Poptropica Land alpha 2 is also here, and it's... just... amazing. Can't put it into words. You can literally build or destroy anything in the world --- and it's a MASSIVE world -- and it SAVES! Excuse me, give me a couple hours or so to play it. By the way, I got #15 on the Player Map for Atlantis 3! That's my closest yet! ![]() So, Survival Island episode 5 is in development now. It starts off with a chase scene, where you try to escape from Van Buren, and this guy helps you. His name is Merc (or it may be Max McGullicutty, from the Survival 3 plane manifest -- it would explain why he's wearing a tie), and he's your true rescuer in Survival. The one who isn't trying to hunt you. He's the one who wrote the message "Meet me in the woods" and "You are not alone" on the tapestry in your room from Survival episode, and signed it "M.M." He's might be a very superstitious fisherman. Here's a conversation with him (where Neptune is, of course, Hades -- creepy) that you will have with him in Survival episode 5: ![]() UPDATE: Changes in the files suggest that this is actually dummy dialog that coincidentally seems to fit with Survival 3. Equally likeley is the fact that Merc/Max is actually from the plane and is in a similar situation to you. (Click the image to zoom). Yesterday I told you about the signs pointing to Legendary Sword's upgrade, and the day before about PoptropiCon. Today I've got even better news: the Poptropica Land Prototype is also going to be upgraded to the big screen, but with a Norse mythology-style twist. It's no longer in beta, so it's called simply "Lands". ![]() The Creators posted this image today, with the subtitle "To create, you must first destroy." That sounds an awful lot like the constant building and breaking down you did in Labs. The other tip-off is the old wizard guy holding a glowing hammer (more on that later). Why is that a tip-off, you may be asking? Because there's a suspicious new file on Poptropica's servers now, called "lands". Here's the only thing I found inside (link to it on Poptropica): ![]() Notice the resemblance to the Mjolnir from Poptropi-con? And the symbol on it is the triple horn of Odin. Poptropica's obsessed with Norse mythology these days! It looks like you're going to use this hammer (called Svadilfari) to transform the land in Poptropica as a god, like Populous. Interestingly, that's not the name of a hammer, but of a stallion who helped a builder construct a wall around the gods. Kind of appropriate, as this lets a huge number of players design islands for Poptropica -- crowdsourcing, anyone? Sadly, Lands is not free (either that, or it is free but Members-only). I can't wait until we get the upgrade, since the Creators have confirmed it -- until then, you can still play the old Land Prototype! Remember Poptrickia's exclusive sneak peek for Survival Island EP4? I showed you scenes, items, and the storyline of the unreleased episode from Poptropica's files. Now, I'm doing it again for Poptropi-con Island! And yes, it's really called that. If you guys like it, I'll continue this series, only available on Poptrickia! ![]() UPDATE: Poptropi-Con has been officially confirmed by the Creators! Click here for the island info page. The first episode is called "Line Forms Here." We were right on! Keep reading to see what it's going to be like. The Creators haven't yet announced this island, but I think we can pretty much call it confirmed. It's going to be released in episodes, and the first episode will likely come after Survival episode 4 (so that means July 31st). It'll be followed by Mission Atlantis episode 3, then Arabian Nights episode 1. So without further ado, check out the scenes for the first episode (there are only four main scenes, and three ad scenes): There are only exterior shots so far, so it seems that we spend the whole episode just trying to get in. Here are the items that you can collect in this episode: Sadly, you do not get to fly the jetpack. Throughout the rest of the episode, you go around asking people for tickets to Poptropi-con while they ask you for favors, such as finding them a jetpack or the Mjolnir, etc. There's going to be a lot of changing costumes in this island! It's such an important part that you're offered to save your look to the Costume Closet if you're a Member before you start. And the Fremulon, by the way, are a (fictional) alien race whose language and customs you have to learn. Aside from that, Poptropi-con sounds like it has a fun, happy, light atmosphere with minigames and Costumizing gold. A refreshing change from the seriousness of Survival and Mission Atlantis. Just comment if you'd like more info on the storyline! ![]() The Members-only promo items have been revealed as well. Looking at this image, there may be a Pizza Puff costume Members get to wear. Interesting, I guess. Even more interesting: Members will get to print a copy of their own Poptropican on the background of a Poptropi-con themed poster. Confused? Check out the image to the right. I was also able to get a version of my non-Member Poptropican, too, but it was a bit cut off; click here for proof. This is despite the fact that the item card that gets you this poster is Members-only. So all that and more is coming to Poptropica next week. What do you think about Poptropi-con Island? ![]() The Rhinoceros Costume is in the Store now for Members (and the glitch that let non-Members costumize it has been fixed now, sorry!) Anyway, what I'm concerned about is what a rhinoceros is doing in Survival Island. We know that our "rescuer" from Survival Island 3 is Myron van Buren, the man who caused the plane crash in the wilderness and who we were warned about. Now he's holding us prisoner, presumably in this cabin. He's an avid hunter, as this image of his foyer shows. (Noticeably, he hasn't shot a rhinoceros yet. Are the Creators trying to get us killed?!) Survival Island episode 4 has not been released yet (that will probably happen on July 10th or 17th), but most of it has been uploaded to Poptropica's servers already. Here's sneak peek at the upcoming episode. It took longer than I'd expected to decode all the files for the episode, but this was worth it! Warning, spoilers ahead!
