Poptropica Cheats for Mocktropica Island
Ugh! What's with that tree? It keeps changing shape. Talk to the lady and you'll discover that Poptropica's new management is to blame for this mess. Enter the Poptropica Headquarters. Finally! You can enter the wonderland, the magical place where the Creators work and play! Nope. This one is only about one thing: money.
Walk left and talk to the guy with the green glasses. He's got this messed-up business scheme whereby kids are paid with cake to give him money-making ideas. Ugh! I feel sick without even eating the cake he gives you. Now take the elevator to the second floor.
Talk to the safety inspector. What?! No more climbing, jumping, or exploring! Go to the third floor. You'll meet the lady who is responsible for all the Poptropica ads. You'll have to act fast to click the little flying X button on the ad. Now to the last floor. This lady has fired all of the writers! All the new islands will apparently be auto-generated drivel about X being upset because the town's X was stolen by X. Let's get out of this building!
Now enter the building again. The lady from outside will let you into the basement. Enter the basement. Talk to the tortured Creators. Now you have to find three of Poptropica's developers. If you click on the blue computer, you can change Main Street. Click RANDOM for now and save. Now leave the building; you'll be notified of "Achievements" along the way. I hope those aren't permanent...
Hey, the scene is not all patchy anymore! Go left and talk to the guy with the pet. He will run to the right, looking for cheese. Follow him, to Ephraim University. Enter the university and talk to the teacher, who is the Poptropica writer Max McPatrick.
This class is messed up! As you try to teach the poem "O Captain! My Captain!" (Californians will have to learn that in seventh grade, I think), an ad will fly across the screen and eventually light the paper on fire. What?! Leave the classroom now.
Go right and you'll met the guy with the pets. They are multiplying the more they eat!
You won't be able to enter the cheese factory because the guard is too grumpy. We'll soon fix that. Return to the Poptropica basement and click the last computer. Then click on Island Maker Pro Home Edition, near the middle of the screen, and click HAPPY. Then return to the cheese factory. You will be let in. Climb the cheese racks to the top floor and talk to Lance Pitcher, the Poptropica designer. But he's happy with this job as long as the cheese curds keep coming. He'll give you a box as you try to leave. Equip it, then leave.
Return to Main Street and when you see the pet guy, throw a cheese curl. The pets will chase it and the guy will run left. Follow him to Funshine Mountain. Throw a cheese curl over the chasm and the pets will leap in like the mice following the Pied Piper! dumb animals... You can walk over the bridge they form. Go left. Climb the mountain and talk to the guy at the top, who will give you a climbing ax. Don't worry about the massive boulders--they are harmless.
Go to the Island Maker Pro and change to Night. Then exit the building and go left, to the suspicious dude. He will give you some counterfeit coins, which you can use to pay the green-glasses guy to go to Ephraim University. (paying to leave an area! sheesh!)
Keep on going, to the cheese factory, and use the pickax to destroy the cheese curls machine. This will cause Lance to rejoin Poptropica! One down, two more to go. But when you return to HQ, your backpack will fall to the ground in a heap of pixels! We need to find Billy Jordan now. Before you do that, change the scene back to Day and the climate back to Clear. Make sure to click Save & Exit--this has bothered me a lot. Leave to find yourself in mid-afternoon again. This is worse than jet lag!
Return to the mountain and climb all the way to the top, now that Lance has finished building it. Follow the same route as before but go up and left and then climb the rope. Talk to the old guy in the tree and he will challenge you to Mancala (remind you of anything? Nabooti perhaps?)
Mancala is easy to play. The goal is to get more stones in your side (the right side) than your opponent. Clicking on one of your cups on your turn will move all the stones counterclockwise, dropping one stone in each cup on the way. If the last stone lands on your own big cup, you play again. If it lands on an empty cup, you collect all the stones in the cup opposite. (Fun fact: I once wrote a computer algorithm that plays a perfect game of Mancala, based on this strategy. So you can actually win every time). Always, always try to go for an extra turn. If there are two cups that will get you an extra turn, choose the rightmost one. Second-important is landing on your own empty cups; try to do this after you've gotten your extra turn. If you don't have any of these options, choose the rightmost cup that both passes over your main cup and covers one or more of your opponent's empty cups. Otherwise, just choose randomly. When you win, return to HQ and go to the blue computer (the Main Street editor)
Arrange the buildings from shortest to tallest, from left to right, as shown in the picture. Now exit and climb to the top of Poptropica HQ, after listening to Green Eyes's inane ideas. Collect the soda. Go left. The Safety Inspector will force you to take a ridiculous, gigantic helmet before jumping off. But you can't give the soda to the teacher yet, as the way there is blocked by a huge crate of soda! In the island editor in the basement, click on the crate to break it. Then go right and give the soda to the teacher in Ephraim University. But that's still not enough--he'll need a Poptropica script first.
Looks like it's almost time to revive the age-old Poptropica tradition of Dumpster-diving. Go left in the basement and talk to the guy sleeping behind the bags. Offer him the cake and he'll shoot away, on a sugar high most likely. Now click on the trash can and move aside references to past Poptropica islands until you find a Zomberry island script. EXAMINE it. Ugh! Awful! At least someone recognizes how tired the act of Dumpser-diving is getting. Click on it and then run it over to the teacher.
Now you've got Max back on board, but you're slapped with the worst ad of all time: an ad follower! Run back into HQ and confront the ad lady on the third floor. Then give her enough coins to get rid of the ads. Hooray! Now, if only we could get rid of the ads on the side of the screen...
Go back down and talk to the lady with the scissors. She'll tell you about slowing down the game by taking out servers. Pah! Let's fix this nonsense. Head down into the basement... hey! It's an unlimited loading screen! It hurts your head to hit it (but boulders falling off cliffs don't... oh never mind). Go into your backpack and don the helmet, then bash all the letters of "Poptropica". Now you're in the servers, surrounded by green, yellow, blue, or red wires. Do this:
- Follow the RED wire to its switch, and make it point DOWN.
- Follow the YELLOW wire to its switch, and make it point UP.
- Follow the BLUE wire to its switch, and make it point LEFT.
- Follow the GREEN wire to its switch, and make it point LEFT.
Here comes the final boss. Mouse to aim and click to shoot extremely deadly coins at him; he'll flash red when he's hit. Whenever he brings his hands or arms back, move away. If don't, you're hit, and your screen flashed red. When you've shot him enough, another inane achievement will pop up. I hate those things! Shoot at it until it shatters. Then shoot the next one as well. Hooray! You've driven Mega Fighting Bots out of Poptropica for good! You can collect your hard-earned island medallion, and then retire to Time Tangled Island. But not if you're a Member...
Members-Only Rogue Programmer Rescue Quest
Apparently a former Poptropica programmer has gone crazy and left Pop for MegaFightingBots (shocking, I know) and... wait for it... beats up everyone. We've got to stop this! Click on the computer and you'll be in a small room, with a giant cleaning robot by your side. Talk to him. Now walk left and click ENTER ARENA on the console.
Rules: You need to face off against 5 evil robots in the arena. You get two rounds against each robot; if the score is tied, then there is one tiebreaker round. So you need to win twice against each bot to win, no matter what.
Each robot has limited health and energy. You lose health when another bot charges into you or when you charge into a wall. You lose energy when you attack, but it replenishes itself. If your energy is in the redzone and your robot is "sweating," you can't attack. You need a good amount of energy at all times. You lose the round when your health bar is empty.
Tips: Click to move to the square you selected. You can move diagonally even if that means passing over one brown square. Double-click to charge. ONLY CHARGE WHEN YOU HAVE A CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT TO THE OPPONENT! Charging is the only way to attack. Don't charge so much that your energy gets low, because then you're rendered defenseless for a while. If this happens, hide behind a brown wall. I recommend only charging twice at a time.
Strategy: The best attack strategy is to go for the "double whammy". You should try to both crash into your opponent and push them into a wall at the same time. This only works when they aren't attacking, though. So, stay in hiding until the enemy comes near both you and a wall, then attack, pushing them into the wall. Another strategy is the "hit-and-run": When your opponent is walking along the outer edges of the arena, go in front of him/her and hide just behind a brown wall. When they come close, attack once then go back diagonally.
Strategic retreat is crucial. As the game progresses, your enemies have more and more energy, so they can attack more. Right after doing a successful attack, hide. Hide on the opposite side to the other robot of a brown area, and move back and forth until your energy is full. Then come out of hiding, wait until you have a straight line to the other robot, then quickly attack. You'll crush those bots this way in no time!
