D.C. Diner is no longer available! It was a sneak peek for Mystery Train Island and it was removed from the map when the island came out. However, some people can use this hack to get in to D.C. Diner anyway. First, log in to Poptropica. Do not log out! Then, come to this page and click the following button. Comment if it works/fails!
The D.C. Diner is here! The customers are racing in, and you are in charge of drinks and food and drinks and doing the dishes (aww...) and seating... oh, my. The game comes in a bunch of shifts, and at the end of each one you can get upgrades. Some take care of cleaning or seating. Others speed up orders and etc. Did I mention each shift is timed? Unfortunately nonmembers can only play up to shift 3. And best of all, you get Poptropica items as prizes for serving VIP guests. Here they are, and the persons you have to serve to get them:
- Edison Lightbulb Thomas Edison; lights up in your hand!
- Mark Twain Haircut Mark Twain; In my opinion it sucks
- Magician's Hat Harry Houdini; Rabbits and flowers poppin' outta your hat!
- Eiffel Tower Hat Gustav Eiffel; What it sounds like
- Tesla Coil Nikola Tesla; The best one: electrify yourself, and shock everyone in the room with a tap of the spacebar!!!
- Fast Drinks Drinks fill up much faster
- Fast Cook* Completes orders ridiculously fast
- Busboy* You don't have to clean plates anymore
- Large Serving Tray* More room on the tray
- Hostess You don't have to manually seat people anymore.
Captain Crawfish himself gave us some tips and tricks on the Creators' Blog. Here they are:
- Keep moving. Don't just stand there waiting for your cook to fill an order. Head back to the table and see if another customer has a new order. Every second you're standing still is a second wasted.
- Stand in the right spot. You can fill up drinks and bus dishes withough having to stand next to the soda fountains or the dish bin. But you do need to stand right in front of the chef in order to place a dinner order. Try filling up drinks from across the screen, or bussing dishes while you place multiple orders with the cook.
- Choose your upgrades carefully. The hostess is a big help, but you probably don't need her in the earlier stages, when only a few customers at a time can fit at the table. But fast drinks -- that'll shave seconds off your time from the start.
- Take calculated risks. Every customer will always order a drink first. Then they will order either the chicken or the burger. Knowing this, you can take some calculated risks. Keep an extra soda and root beer on your tray. Get the chef cooking a burger and a chicken before anybody has ordered their dinner. You might end up needing to dump something in the trash, but when these risks pay off, you'll save lots of time.
