PoptropiCon
Everyone is dressed up for the biggest sci-fi and fantasy convention in Poptropica. At PoptropiCon, the most important thing isn't what you do — it's how you look doing it!
This is the third episodal island without a blimp and the first to require Costumizing to beat the Island.
Hint: you can actually costumize any of the random (well, not-so-random) NPCs seen walking around PoptropiCon. Some of them may be familiar! When you see one, mark it on the PoptropiCon bingo sheet.

Episode 1: Line Forms Here
You'll start off next to the bus outside PoptropiCon, the biggest Poptropica convention of all time! The problem is, it's sold out, so how do we get in? To the right is the Costume Closet, where you should probably save your costume right now (because you're going to lose it).
Now, go right to the people waiting in line. Talk to the princess. She does have an extra ticket, but she's holding it for a friend, who's in heavy disguise as a wizard. She'll even describe his costume to you. Hmm... Let's impersonate him! Costumize the following items onto yourself:
Now, go right to the people waiting in line. Talk to the princess. She does have an extra ticket, but she's holding it for a friend, who's in heavy disguise as a wizard. She'll even describe his costume to you. Hmm... Let's impersonate him! Costumize the following items onto yourself:
- The staff with blue flame from the last person in line to the right.
- The gray beard from the guy fighting the vending machine (jump up the awnings to reach him). While you're here, grab the Bottles.
- The pointed hat from the witch on top of the convention roof.
- The robe with a moon and stars from the guy eating Pizza Puffs to the left.
Now you should look like the wizard. Go back to the princess and ask for your rightfully earned ticket... not yet. She wants something from the wizard -- you! Go all the way left, past the Pizza Puffs, to the Bathrooms area. There's a pretty long line there, but talk to the wizard. Ah yes, so we need to get something... that he "lost"... in the bathroom. Uh-huh, right. The next guy in line will relinquish his spot if you remind him the name of an actor from a movie. Each person in the line will ask you a favor, then give you their spot when you do it.
Go all the way right, to the Alley (click on the gap in the fence to the right of the Convention Center). While there, collect the Backpack Straps from the dumpster. Run right and click on the Thor movie poster next to the catapult. Bucky Lucas, of course! Talk to him again and he'll move. The next one wants the cosplay time. Go right to the main convention center and jump up the left side of the building. Click the "Cosplay starts at noon" sign, and then talk to the person again. Next! This one's a tad bit trickier.
|
She won't move for anyone but the Power Gem wielder. Well, that can be arranged... go right, to the main center, and talk to the cheetah-dressed lady with the trippy motion blur on top of the bus. She'll challenge you to a race first. Whoever reaches the water tower at the top of the building wins! This is easier than expected; climb the first flight of stairs, then crawl up the gutter pipe on the left side of the building. Jump off the clothesline to reach the top, then jump up the water tower. You can now wield the Power Gem and zoom around with a cool trail! Wear it, then talk to the person in line. Okay, next!
The guy with the moon hat wants a Fremulon Costume. Go right, to the next area, then walk to the Space Jaunt booth (which is some sort of TV show). Talk to the masked guy on the right. You'll have to choose the correct responses, which are (you say the bold words):

Click to get past the instructions. We need to make a jetpack! Click the following in order:
- backpack straps
- glue
- bottles
- glue
- watch parts
- spray paint
If you go all the way right, to the far end of the alley, and equip and use the hammer in front of the security guard by the catapult, he'll reveal his one weakness: Thor. And we'd really like to use that catapult, so here's the deal: we dress up like Thor to fool him. Here's the parts you need:
- The goatee from the last man in the Entrance line.
- The blue tunic from the girl by Ye Olde Forge of Finery (left of main center).
- The helmet+hair from the last guy in the bathroom line.
- The gray cape from the second-last girl in the bathroom line.
Episode 2: Spoiler Alert
SMASH! The convention opens just as you make your dramatic entrance through the Theater window. We want to assemble an Omegon costume to win the contest. To get started, run all the way right and go to the Expo Floor. (You can learn to costumize again by talking to the woman in blue.) Now, go right and talk to the man at the Wicked Cool News booth. He'll give you a phone to collect 3 clues about Omegon's appearance in the Mighty Action Force movie.
For the first clue, go right and talk to Stan Ditko. He'll tell you about someone who has Omegon information -- and there she is! Follow her to Hallways. This part is a maze. Keep a close eye on Sasha, who looks as shown, and go through only the doors that she goes through to follow her. After four doors, you'll end up in the convention lobby.
|
Walk left and talk to her. She'll give you her business card, but she'll run away before giving you the info. But she left her phone! We need to identify which one in the bin is hers. Go right and climb to the upper floor. Go to Sasha's Calling Card in your inventory and call the number. The basket will start to ring and vibrate; go down there and take out her phone. That's clue number one, taken in the most morally ambiguous way possible.
Leave through the Hallways (no more maze, thankfully). If you enter the Exhibits area, you'll realize that you're going to have to dress up like Elf Archer in order to get in. As you play the island, stay on the lookout for the following costume items in order to look like Elf Archer:
Leave through the Hallways (no more maze, thankfully). If you enter the Exhibits area, you'll realize that you're going to have to dress up like Elf Archer in order to get in. As you play the island, stay on the lookout for the following costume items in order to look like Elf Archer:
- Green and yellow tunic from the man hanging off a rope and dressed like a piñata in the Lobby behind the Hallways.
- Green cap from the old lady on the top floor of Expo Floor.
- Green mask from the man sitting on a chair to the left of the stage in the Theater.
- Bow and quiver from the guy to the far right of the Demo area.
Run left inside the Expo Floor and enter the Demo Hall. Talk to the woman in red and yellow, and she'll give you an intro deck and teach you how to play the Mighty Action Force trading card game. In classic Poptropica style, we're going to master this game and use it to get the second clue. Remember that you can also find other cards to play with scattered around the area. Here are all the locations of the hidden cards (get a red balloon from the right of the Demo area before you go to find these):
- Bulletin board on top floor of Demo Hall. Click on it four times to stomp away the sticky notes, and the card Dirt Claude is yours!
- Jump off the left side of the ledge in the Expo Floor to catch the Trash Collector card stuck in the wall.
- In the Theater, run left and jump onto the leftmost blue ledge. Push the cardboard box off, and behind it is the card Team Arachnid.
- In the Exhibit Hall lobby, there's one in the hand of the suspended superhero; bounce on the hand part of it to drop the Fashion Ninja.
- Inside the vending machine in the Lobby behind the Hallways. Click on the machine to knock out the Pony Girl card.
Now that you have all these cool cards, click ORGANIZE on your deck and swap the low-powered cards like Hench-Bot and even Meow-Bot out of your deck for your more powerful cards or cards that have abilities (the hidden ones you just found). Try to keep all your 3-power and above cards. This will make your deck much stronger, since you can only have 13 cards. Pictured above is my winning deck (well, mine had one more World Guy and one less Meow-Bot than that picture shows). Now that you have that, return to the Demo Hall and go to the top right, and challenge the guy there wearing the PASE cap to a card game.
He's tough, but if you win, you get the Omegon card! It's the highest power in the game, and of course it's the second clue. My strategy is to always gain gems and only attack when the opponent could be able to win next turn (i.e. if he/she has 4 or less gem slots left, then you should attack). Use your special ability cards early in the game to get an advantage.
Now, exit to the Expo Floor and enter the Exhibits area. By now you should have the Elf Archer costume ready as described in this section. Jump onto the left side pedestal on the cart, and the two gofers will come out and wheel you in, thinking you're an Elf Archer statue. What acting! Now that you're in, go to the top floor, and there's the Omegon mask! Now you have all the clues you need. Go back to the Wicked Cool News booth at the Expo Floor, and the guy will (almost literally) whip up an Omegon suit for you. When you've costumized it, run left into the Theater for the costume contest!

The first two costumes are a flop -- but yours rocks! You're getting ready for the prize, when -- a surprise entrance occurs! Those are some pretty good special effects... right guys? The new arrival's costume is great, but he looks a little too... into it. Suddenly, a burst of killing green light shoots out. The real OMEGON has crashed the party! And he means business...

Next in Episode 3... Humanity vs Omegon.
Episode 3: Reign of Omegon
Thanks to Larkwing for her help with writing the walkthrough for this episode!
You wake up with a start as the dreadful memories return. We must save humankind from Omegon! Head on just to the right and talk to the woman in blue by the drinking fountain. Tessa will tell you that the Mighty Action Force weapons will help you to defeat Omegon. Talk to her second in command to her right. He will give you a comic book about Omegon and Alphaon (Omegon's good-guy counterpart). Go left past the Boiler Room, and collect the energy drink from the table. Those people will offer to play the MAF trading card game, which is not required to beat the episode. Then go up and enter the Exhibit Room through the vent.
Elf Archer
There's Elf Archer! She's trapped in a force field directly above you, but the area is well-guarded. Run all the way right, past the first pink laser. Climb the stack of yellow barrels, then jump up and pass the next laser. Drop off to the right; in the bottom right of the scene you should see a silver and blue shield. Go and collect it. This is one of the Mighty Action Force weapons; when activated and you press SPACEBAR, it will deflect laser beams at a right angle. Quite useful, but remember that if you move, it will stop reflecting until you press SPACEBAR again.
Go left, and jump over the stack of yellow barrels. Stand under the power station (the gray box with a pink orb and two yellow cans). Press the spacebar to activate the shield. When the laser comes, it will be deflected up and short out the power station. This will disable some of the lasers, so you can pass to the left.
|
Climb the stacks of barrels again and jump up to the platform you were on before. Stand on the laser-scorched rock and use your shield while facing left. You'll short out the third power box, and now the laser blocking you from Elf Archer is disabled. Go left and drop all the way down. Go left and climb the next pile of barrels, and jump up to where Elf Archer is imprisoned. Press the red button to disable the force field. One superhero (OK fine, they're all actors) rescued! Exit through the vent and talk to her in HQ. She will give you her bow; that's the second weapon!
Goldface
Now go to the right and enter the vent marked Expo. What madness is going on here? You witness our beloved Pinata-Man transformed into a Hench-Bot and tossed carelessly onto the pile. Could this be the fate of the rest of the Con under Omegon's rule? Anyway, after the machine breaks, go right, past the pile of bots. There's Goldface, trapped in another force shield! Keep going right until you're standing between two yellow barrels. Equip the bow, and press SPACEBAR to shoot. You'll destroy the green crystal, which will disable the green force field and allow you to keep going right (watch out for the laser). When you're almost at the rightmost end of the room, jump up to the second floor. Push the blue crate off to the left, then push it all the way down to the bottom. Stand on it, face right, and shoot the bow at the green crystal.
Now go back to the top floor and go left until you get to the green force field. The force field that we just opened has another crystal behind it, and once we break that crystal, this force field will open. Go right and push the blue crate a little bit to the right. Jump on it, so that you can jump onto the yellow platform jutting out of the wall. Face right, then shoot the arrow. Now the force field is open, but there's a laser blocking the way. Go to the bottom floor and stand in the path of the horizontal laser. Stand directly underneath the grate in the floor above. Then activate your shield; it'll deflect the laser beam upwards, shorting out the power station and leaving the way clear to Goldface!
|
Go up and press the red button on his cage. When you return to HQ, he will give you his gauntlets (gloves). However, these aren't powered yet. Go back into the Expo and click on the exposed wires next to the machine. Now that the gloves are charged, you can emit a pulse of energy by pressing SPACEBAR. Go left until you see a blue triangle next to the machine, then use your gauntlets to charge it. Felix is free! He'll give you another energy drink as a reward. Return to HQ, and return to the Exhibit Hall. Run all the way to the right of the room. Equip the electron gloves, then click on the vending machine. It will come to life, and you can collect another energy drink. Now go to the Theater.
|
World Guy
Run left until you're on top of the dark blue platform with the triangle on it. Use the gauntlets to charge it up; it will start to move up with you on it. Quickly equip the bow and turn to the right. Shoot the green crystal when you get level with it, then as the platform is going down, slide off to the right (you should now be one level above the vent). Go right until you see a laser, then use the shield to deflect the beam to the right, shorting out that power station. Oh no! That shield couldn't take the heat and it melted!
Now go back down to the ground floor and run all the way right. Power up this platform with the electron gloves, then equip the arrow and face left. When you reach the crystal, shoot it. Then jump up to the platform above it. There's World Guy! Free him, and talk to him back in HQ. He will give you his shield; hopefully this one will stay together for longer.
Now, we finally have the authentic Mighty Action Force weapons we need to summon Alphaon! Wait... what is Tessa talking about? AAH! OMEGON HAS FOUND THE HQ! We're surrounded by traitors... now run into the theater to confront Omegon.
|
Omegon
Run all the way right and activate the triangle with the gauntlets again. Jump off to the left and run left until you get to the laser. Use your shield to deflect the laser onto the power station to the left, then go back down to the ground floor and run left. Jump over the yellow barrel, and now you're directly underneath Omegon's throne. On the left you'll see Omegon's power crystal with one laser beam running into it. If we can get four beams to hit the crystal, it will become unstable. Go to the sphere to the left that has the pink power orb on it. Click on each of the slots to put an energy drink can on it. As the hundreds of thousands of calories erupt inside the power station, the four lasers will become activated one-by-one.
Now charge up each of the three power triangles on the right with your electron gauntlets. The platforms above them will start moving. You'll notice there's a small hole in the wall next to where the platforms were. Get onto the platform on the right side of the hole, equip the bow, face left, and shoot the power crystal.
|
Yess! The vile, evil Omegon has been defeated, not with brute force and power, but with teamwork, bravery and determination! Wait... he's not dead?! Suddenly, you feel yourself being sucked into Omegon's realm. As you are, the weapons of the true Mighty Action Force fuse into you and you transform into Alphaon! Time for a classic boss battle.
Above you is Omegon, who has four power crystals on his head that we must destroy. Beside you are two lasers. When one comes down, it will fire soon. Get underneath one of the moving platforms, face the laser, and use your shield. It will make the platform fall down, and you can climb on top of it. Then, use the gauntlets to make it go up. Once there, use the arrow to shoot out the green crystal. Repeat this 2 times on both sides; it goes faster if you alternate sides. Then, when the pink orbs behind his eyes are revealed, get directly under them and use the shield to deflect the side lasers onto each one. Now, truly, Omegon is defeated! He will explode for a full one minute, then his fortress will transform back into good old PoptropiCon.
