The Creators recently announced the 20 rarest items on Poptropica (well, not all of them.) Reply to this post if you have the latest ones:

Brain in a Jar Dial 411 on the Nabooti Phone. This one was mentioned in the Journal before.
Viking Suit Use the gliders from Leo's shop on TT to fly from the ledge near where you go into the cave, to the ledge at the top of the hill on the right. BONUS: used to be sunglasses on the wind vane on top of Pendulum's Lab.
Multiverse ya, ya, we know, but it's cool anyway.
And the limited-time Nabooti Mask on the brown building on Balding Avenue (Spy. Expired)

Not trying to brag, I knew about these already (and I have them. I've been playing for quite a while) Anybody else who does post in the comments! I'll mention you on the home page. Your username is required so I can check if you really have the items on your Poptropican. BTW, Shrink Ray opening June 30!

Shrink Shot Help

This is the post you're looking for if you need help with Shrink Shot! I'm posting this now because the official Sneak Peek for Shrink Ray is coming up soon. I'm assuming you know the basic idea with this game: point and click to launch at an angle and you get to shoot again if you hit the cannon. It's mostly pure luck because you can't control yourself after you've shot. But here are some pointers anyway.

You can get to higher ranks by scoring points in the game, which can come from three different things:

point balls
bouncing around madly
destruction by crashing into dangerous objects (oh, and did I mention you're a tenth of your true size in this?)

For each rank there's a cool special-action item. Here they are:

hard helmet
bouncy ball
propeller cap
spiked hard helmet (oh YEAH!)
spiked bouncy ball (what?)

The last three items are members-only. You can only get the grand prize with the last hat, which means that's members-only as well (@#$%^&*)! Each hat causes much more mayhem than the first. Some balls (the ones with arrows) will change your direction and give you extra points. When you hit one three times, it will disappear. There are various objects around the room, which can give you special (and awesome) items as well:

grape Popgum (chewable) [from stack of gum on shelf]
droppable soda bottle [found in many places, but one is within shooting distance of the cannon]
crayons (change anyone's skin color) [from crayons on windowsill]
shrink ray design blue balloon [from big balloon near top]
snow globe (members only, sparkly) [grand prize]
blimp gives +points
car takes you to the other end of the room
plane takes you near the blimp
the rank items are collectible (and wearable) as well

Shoot for a 45* degree angle almost all of the time to get the quickest rank up at first, but if you want distance, not height, try shooting 75* counterclockwise. This will put you in range of the balloons, blimp and plane and will also get you closest to the snow globe. And remember, you have the same Ninja Vision thing from Red Dragon... press the spacebar to pause and look around.

Check out Shark Boy's crazy score if you need inspiration (I actually got higher, but didn't take any video. Excuse my obnoxiousness in that post, I was very young!)

In other news, Balloon Boy may be landing soon (finally!) Before I go on break, I have one message for you. The next island, after Shrink Ray, may just be a sequel to Astro-Knights. Don't believe me? The answer lies deep within the old Sneak Peeks. *fainting from shock*

Super Awesome Costumizing Options!

Check this out guys! I'm coming through for that long-forgotten promise I made to post a follow-up to Some stuff you may not have known. In addition to the 'p' key for pause I found earlier, there are about four more super cool ones! Like these:

Ctrl+Shift+S: Change your skin color
Ctrl+Shift+H: Change your hair color
Ctrl+Shift+P: A jack-o-lantern Face!!!
Ctrl+Shift+G (while wearing the jack-o-lantern face): Turn green for awhile

AWESOME, 'cuz you can spend hundreds of credits buying costumes to do stuff like that! Totally sick! And combined with my previous ones, you can totally freak out other Poptropicans. Don't forget the Randomizer (Ctrl+Shift+R .)

Sorry, people! I kind of took this week off of my website, and I thought you guys may be wondering what's happened. No, Poptrickia is not closing down, but it's not going to be changing so fast anymore, either. Cry. To prove that I'm still working on it, I now have a (cheap) search box up there. Anyway...

There's some cool new (and old) costumes out there in the Store that would suit this Red Dragon Island/Japan trend just fine. For example, the new Midnight Red Ninja (members-only):

Uh... in my opinion it looks more hostile and freaky than cool. But I gotta do my job...

Remember the emotes on the sidebar you can use in any muliplayer room? Well, you can now use those anywhere you want, thanks to these cool new keyboard shortcuts:

Ctrl+Shift+1 Laugh!
Ctrl+Shift+2 Weep!
Ctrl+Shift+3 Lose your head!
Ctrl+Shift+4 Jump for joy!

You can also combine emotes for some interesting results. For example, use Ctrl+Shift+3 and just as your face turns red, cry or laugh! People may start recommending sunscreen! And don't worry; this effect isn't permanent.

Sumo Wresting in the Sneak Peek!

I mentioned this earlier, but I'm saying it again: You can now sumo wrestle in the Red Dragon Island Sneak Preview! Just go right and talk to the guy to get started. When he says "Begin", click! The "begin" speech bubble doesn't even have to be completely out of his mouth yet! But time it right, 'cause if you click too early you will be DISQUALIFIED. If you click too late, you will be PUSHED OFF THE RING.

Protip: The 's' key can be used to skip dialog. Since you may get twitchy because the amount of time until the man says "begin" is always different, use the 's' key on your keyboard to control when the match begins. In short: wait until he says 'set', then hit 's' immediately followed by a click. Note: This is technically cheating.

Each time you win a match, your counter at the top goes up. Every five matches, you will advance to the next rank and get the costume for that rank. Only Members can go past Maegashira. Sorry to all the non-members out there! Here's a list of all the possible ranks (and costumes:)

Juryo (the one you start off with)
Maegashira
Sanyaku
Ozeki
Yokozuna
