Even more things are yet to come, though. So far, there's no sign of the knight, table and dresser shown in the picture to the right. Could we soon be getting more building materials? You can use them in the Poptropica Land contest if you choose to enter (come on guys, I know you've got cool stuff to share for prizes!)
UPDATES: The full written guide and video guide are complete. Click the links to see each one. PoptropiCon has just released to Members today, and it's a pretty unique island in a few ways. First of all, the Creators have released an official video walkthrough of it, for free, at the immediate second that the island released. Which they are advertising on the homepage and in tons of other places. Doesn't that somewhat kill friendly competition on their own player maps? Hmm, this is making things tricky for us fansites, isn't it? (Check out Poptrickia's PCon guide too) Anyway... PoptropiCon itself is a pretty awesome island (which I'm proud to say, I beat without the official video guide). The full written walkthrough is complete; click here to read. In it, you actually have to costumize specific items from different people in order to advance in the island, as well as do a lot of negotiating. The goal is to get into the sold-out PoptropiCon by any means necessary! I got #283, but hey, I was in school at the time it released *grumble*. Monsters are back in Poptropica Land! If you'll remember, the last iteration of Lands had little "pets" that would be automatically generated and bounce around the land. These monsters are similar, but much more elaborate and Poptropican-looking. And some of them do bite! Even more things are yet to come, though. So far, there's no sign of the knight, table and dresser shown in the picture to the right. Could we soon be getting more building materials? You can use them in the Poptropica Land contest if you choose to enter (come on guys, I know you've got cool stuff to share for prizes!) In other news, the final episode of Mission Atlantis also released for non-Members today, and the penultimate episode of Survival has been out for a while. Check out our walkthroughs!

Click here for Mission Atlantis Guide / Survival Island Guide Mission Atlantis episode 3 ("Out of the Blue") just released for Members, and Survival Island 4 ("Cabin Fever") is also here for non-Members and the Poptropica app. Atlantis 3 is the last episode of one of the most intriguing and exciting islands yet! I wonder if Poptropi-con will be this short? UPDATE: Mission Atlantis guide and video complete! Poptropica Land alpha 2 is also here, and it's... just... amazing. Can't put it into words. You can literally build or destroy anything in the world --- and it's a MASSIVE world -- and it SAVES! Excuse me, give me a couple hours or so to play it. By the way, I got #15 on the Player Map for Atlantis 3! That's my closest yet! So, Survival Island episode 5 is in development now. It starts off with a chase scene, where you try to escape from Van Buren, and this guy helps you. His name is Merc (or it may be Max McGullicutty, from the Survival 3 plane manifest -- it would explain why he's wearing a tie), and he's your true rescuer in Survival. The one who isn't trying to hunt you. He's the one who wrote the message "Meet me in the woods" and "You are not alone" on the tapestry in your room from Survival episode, and signed it "M.M." He's might be a very superstitious fisherman. Here's a conversation with him (where Neptune is, of course, Hades -- creepy) that you will have with him in Survival episode 5: UPDATE: Changes in the files suggest that this is actually dummy dialog that coincidentally seems to fit with Survival 3. Equally likeley is the fact that Merc/Max is actually from the plane and is in a similar situation to you. (Click the image to zoom). The glyphs that you can optionally photograph on Mission Atlantis episode 2 looked suspiciously familiar to me as I was playing through. I couldn't place it until I saw the "alien transmission" at the end... Of course! Lunar Colony Island! Remember the glyphs on the walls of the Alien Base? They match the six glyphs found in Episode 2 (which represent numbers in the alien language). Both alien civilizations tend to like glowing purple things. Both are shown to have secretly known about Earth life for a long time (the timeline from the alien base, pictured right; and the goblin shark trapped for 125 million years). They have a language (which Poptropica may be giving us hints about to try to translate it), strange technology (force fields that generate power from and immortalize living things, remote viewing through time and space), and who knows what. They've been watching us from perhaps as far back as Nabooti Island (the totem statue was an alien spacecraft after all and the gems had inscriptions similar to the Lunar Colony ones). Could their mystery finally be uncloaked in Mission Atlantis? I'm certainly looking forward to it! Before I go: the Creators have only promised three episodes of Mission Atlantis so far, according to the island info page. But the description for Episode 3 reads: You're on the verge of the greatest discovery in human history — but an ancient intelligence has other plans. Now, when has your Poptropican ever lost in any Poptropica island? Or when has any island ever left off on the verge of something? Never. I'm almost certain that Mission Atlantis is going to have at least one more episode before the end of the year! And now we have an idea of what this "ancient intelligence" is.
...and Survival EP3 is out for all players, check out the guide. In Episode 1, you found an ancient, glowing structure on the ocean floor. You thought it was Atlantis... but it turned out to be a massive fortress guarding Atlantis. In Episode 2 you have to get in! I got #26... Yay! Not. Anyway, I'm getting better. Click here for the full written guide: Poptropica Cheats for Mission Atlantis Island. The full video guide is ready as well! I think it's my most detailed one so far, with time codes in the description if you need them. Check it out! New Island SpeculationSo far, we know nothing about the storyline or plot of the next island, but we know plenty about the setting. The next island centers around a convention about Poptropica — Poptropi-con, if you will. There'll be plenty of (very bad) cosplaying as various Poptropica characters, and it will take place in somewhere near the Bay Area. It's another meta island like Mocktropica, but hopefully less depressing. It'll probably be followed by Arabian Nights Island (which is most likely pushed to 2015). Alright, the banners on the tent-like buildings say something like "Convention" a few times. Additionally, the green bags people are holding say "P-Con". In the background of the pizza cart, you see the Golden Gate Bridge. And the whole mood of the area scream San Francisco. But what makes me think that it's about Poptropica? Take a look at the costumes... I see things from Astro-Knights, Lunar Colony, Game Show, Cryptids, and Time Tangled Islands at least. So, that's what's coming up in Poptropica this year! And according to this tweet, the Android Poptropica app won't be here until September (it was previosuly promised for July) Stay tuned to the Journal; I've got some top-secret insights into Survival Episode 4 coming up!
After a long wait, the second episode of Survival Island is here for Poptropica Members to play. You have to find food in the foothills of the mountains you were in before, while all the time the same creep with the binoculars now has cameras examining your every move. On the bright side you no longer freeze if you don't move. Click here to see the full written and illustrated guide! UPDATE: Video guide now available! Also, Mission Atlantis EP1 is here for all Poptropicans starting today! Click here to see the full written and video guide! Survival is barely started yet and already Members can play Mission Atlantis EP1! It's a deep-sea photographic expedition gone wrong. (Which is probably a good thing, otherwise you'd have no island to play!) In other news, Survival Island Episode 1 is also available for all players -- see the guide. Update: Poptrickia's own Mission Atlantis Episode 1 guide is complete! Click the link below to check it out! Mission Atlantis Island Guide Boy, was I off about my prediction about the next island... but I'm happy to be wrong, because the reality is more exciting. The next Poptropica Island will be Mission Atlantis! It'll be released in episodes like Survival. The trailer is enticing but plain; but it's got some interesting parts. Notice those purple glowing marks near the end? Some of them look like bones. But then there's a part that has some dots arranged in a grid, which looks artificial. Whatever it is, I'm hooked :) It would be nice if the woman in the vessel would show some emotion about being cut down and dropped into the depths of the ocean--just my two cents. Also, (start nerdiness) jellyfish can't really shock things electrically. Actually they just shoot stinging cells (called nematocysts) into flesh which are covered with poison, making you feel like you've been electrocuted. (end nerdiness). Are you Surviving Survival Island?Wow, that wind noise really gets on your nerves. And the thermometer is just lethal; look away for a few seconds, or switch tabs to write your walkthrough, and you're dead when you look back. My solution: click on the menu before leaving the game unattended. Also, though Survival so far has almost no story (except the creepy binoculars scene) and has a ton of little unfinished plot hooks sticking out (wet kindling that you never use, owls hiding in EVERY SINGLE TREE, part of your ax stuck in a trunk, a sleeping bear), I think it (and all episodal islands) is going to be very long. There are like 5 or 6 episodes planned now. Even though they're spread out, I think this will give us more room for a real story to happen; that's why Survival starts slow. What do you think?
