You're on the verge of the greatest discovery in human history — but an ancient intelligence has other plans.
The glyphs that you can optionally photograph on Mission Atlantis episode 2 looked suspiciously familiar to me as I was playing through. I couldn't place it until I saw the "alien transmission" at the end... Of course! Lunar Colony Island! Remember the glyphs on the walls of the Alien Base? They match the six glyphs found in Episode 2 (which represent numbers in the alien language). Both alien civilizations tend to like glowing purple things. Both are shown to have secretly known about Earth life for a long time (the timeline from the alien base, pictured right; and the goblin shark trapped for 125 million years). They have a language (which Poptropica may be giving us hints about to try to translate it), strange technology (force fields that generate power from and immortalize living things, remote viewing through time and space), and who knows what. They've been watching us from perhaps as far back as Nabooti Island (the totem statue was an alien spacecraft after all and the gems had inscriptions similar to the Lunar Colony ones). Could their mystery finally be uncloaked in Mission Atlantis? I'm certainly looking forward to it! Before I go: the Creators have only promised three episodes of Mission Atlantis so far, according to the island info page. But the description for Episode 3 reads: Now, when has your Poptropican ever lost in any Poptropica island? Or when has any island ever left off on the verge of something? Never. I'm almost certain that Mission Atlantis is going to have at least one more episode before the end of the year! And now we have an idea of what this "ancient intelligence" is.

...and Survival EP3 is out for all players, check out the guide. In Episode 1, you found an ancient, glowing structure on the ocean floor. You thought it was Atlantis... but it turned out to be a massive fortress guarding Atlantis. In Episode 2 you have to get in! I got #26... Yay! Not. Anyway, I'm getting better. Click here for the full written guide: Poptropica Cheats for Mission Atlantis Island. The full video guide is ready as well! I think it's my most detailed one so far, with time codes in the description if you need them. Check it out! New Island SpeculationSo far, we know nothing about the storyline or plot of the next island, but we know plenty about the setting. The next island centers around a convention about Poptropica — Poptropi-con, if you will. There'll be plenty of (very bad) cosplaying as various Poptropica characters, and it will take place in somewhere near the Bay Area. It's another meta island like Mocktropica, but hopefully less depressing. It'll probably be followed by Arabian Nights Island (which is most likely pushed to 2015). Alright, the banners on the tent-like buildings say something like "Convention" a few times. Additionally, the green bags people are holding say "P-Con". In the background of the pizza cart, you see the Golden Gate Bridge. And the whole mood of the area scream San Francisco. But what makes me think that it's about Poptropica? Take a look at the costumes... I see things from Astro-Knights, Lunar Colony, Game Show, Cryptids, and Time Tangled Islands at least. So, that's what's coming up in Poptropica this year! And according to this tweet, the Android Poptropica app won't be here until September (it was previosuly promised for July) Stay tuned to the Journal; I've got some top-secret insights into Survival Episode 4 coming up!
Survival episode 3 is playable for Members and Survival episode 2 is open for all starting today. I got #221... shame on me, I know, but I was at school when it released. The video guide is here, and the written guide is complete. Click here for the full Survival Island walkthrough! Guess what? My wish came true, the lagging bug has stopped! You know the problem where if you clicked outside Poptropica's screen rectangle it would get super jumpy and slow? No more of that. Hurray!
Now only two more left: making feet tilt on tilted platforms and bringing the classic Poptropican "pushing against a wall" animation back instead of the weird body shuffling. Just letting you know that Survival Island episode 3 is going to release on Friday instead of today. The Creators just announced this, with promises that they're going to "nip and tuck" a few things prior to that. Aargh, I could have saved my sleep yesterday! If anyone knows the exact time that new islands arrive, please write that and your timezone in the comments. It'll really help me get walkthroughs in faster. Anyway, I have an announcement to make: From now on, Poptrickia will provide video walkthroughs for EVERY new island. Now that the islands come in short episodes instead of jumbo hour-long ordeals (which I enjoyed, for the record), making a video guide is easier, and in my opinion, more fun for you to follow. Don't worry, I'll still be writing written walkthroughs as I have for the past 3 years; those are still Poptrickia's focus. Old islands may or may not get new video guides (Mocktropica and Mythology will, though).
