Survival Island, episode 1, is here for members to play! In this episode you get stranded on a cold, snowy land and you have you build a fire before you die of hypothermia. The Poptrickia guide will be ready soon, but don't despair; it's updated as I go. Update: The guide for episode 1 is now complete! (It'll be going through some minor rewriting, but don't you worry about that.)

Poptropica veterans and newbies alike have long been hoping for Monster Carnival to release. It took six years, but it's here... and let me just say, as an experienced Poptropican: it does not disappoint (not too much). MCI is one of the most fun islands to ever be created, hands down.
Since this review turned out to be rather long, you can read the rest of it by clicking "Read More" below.
After a (literally) six-year-long wait, Monster Carnival island is here for Poptropica Members to play! My prediction turned out to be a day off--but what's a day after six years, right? The walkthrough is complete now, with a special review on the way!

UPDATE: A full video walkthrough of MCI is now available! Click here to watch it big-screen on the island page, or here it is below.
Check out what I found on Shark Tooth Island! It's the treasury guard from Time Tangled Island... except, he seems to be utterly lost. In both space and time. However, if you go to his regular place on Time Tangled, then he's still there. Huh?
This is a baffling thing to do in any case. Why are there two copies of the guard and why is one on Shark Tooth all of a sudden? Notice that he says that he should be on Time Twisted island. However, Time Twisted was renamed to Time Tangled ages ago (I think before it was even released). And Time Twisted/Tangled was released just before Monster Carnival was supposed to go live the first time in 2009; of course, it was canceled before that. So now I'm getting an idea...
(extreme speculation starts here)
Maybe the one on ST (the second one, let's call him the clone) was meant to be part of Time Twisted but traveled forward in time somehow. Now, since Ancient Greece existed way before Time Tangled was released, this guy still thinks he's on Time Twisted. Make sense? Now here's the idea. This guard would know about Monster Carnival, the original, since he he escaped before it was canceled. Keep an eye on him, he may be important to the quest of Monster Carnival.
(end extreme speculation)
Update: I did some more research and here's the true explanation... The treasury guard actually appeared there before, five years ago, to promote "Time Twisted Island," and then went away after it was released as "Time Tangled." (Monster Carnival was expected to release near this time). Now, he's back again, this time to provoke nostalgia in long-time players who would recognize Time Tangled's old name and remember the original Monster Carnival mystery.
In other news... Monster Carnival Island is going to be released to Poptropica Members this coming Thursday. If you're looking for me that day, I'll be neurotically refreshing Poptropica every few seconds. Anyway, have a nice week!
YES! It's every long-time (and current) Poptropica player's dream come true: Monster Carnival Island is the next island! Maybe you don't know it, but today is a part of history. Truly. Excuse me while I go off and celebrate...
Nobody could forget that unforgettable snapshot to the right, one of the grandest Sneak Peeks the Creators ever revealed. (Click here to read the accompanying blog post). It almost confirmed that they still had an interest in the long-awaited (some say long-gone) Monster Carnival Island. Lately the hints have been increasing, and coming from everywhere: Mocktropica, sneak peeks, some videos they released, blog posts. I posted about some of these in a recent post (click to read), but this time I'm taking a different approach.
Doesn't this look a lot like one of those hammer games at carnivals? (hint: it does). Now take a look at that notebook. Notice something halfway down the left side: "Test of strength (hammer)". Ah-ha!
The actual Problem of the islanders is a little bit confusing, that the carnival workers are zombies--but then the Creators themselves mentioned that "As we developed it a little more, the "Haunted Amusement Park" took on a slightly different form (and name)...", so maybe we shouldn't expect that to be a major part of the story. Though having a moody ringmaster's prized possession be a bullhorn would be pretty Poptropica-esque...
Both these images seem to be from the same room and have the same style to them. They are also filled with mirrors, which not only have we seen before in the Sneak Peeks, but are mentioned in the notebook: "Funhouse mirrors". Though that's not the most strange part...
Recent Sneak Peeks have been having a definite "mad scientist" theme to them (get it? the blocks spell M-A-D?). There are (1) pictures of monster specimens tagged with numbers, (2) images of an apothecary/drugstore with something to do with Osmium, a very heavy element that you collect, and (3) lots of laboratory equipment. This only means one thing... mad scientist come to Poptropica at last! Finally, a good boss fight we can enjoy! Examine:
I'm telling you, if Monster Carnival is re-released, it would make my year.
This post was UPDATED today!
Before you flip out, let me say that the evidence I have is not definite. And anyway, false alarms have happened (with Zomberry and Night Watch). But have an open mind and read on...
As most long-time Poptropicans know, an island called "Monster Carnival" was announced, alongside Time Tangled. It was to feature a haunted amusement park with monsters. Sadly, it was never released. Yet...
Take a look at these pictures (click to enlarge), then scroll down to hear my theories.
Earlier than these, there are some unrelated Sneak Peeks that I mentioned in another post. Also, the Dream Island contest winner is not yet announced. So this island is probably not coming out next, but after that.
What do you think? Could Monster Carnival return? Share evidence in the comments if you can!
We've all known for a while that there's a new Poptropica Friends / Costume Closet thing coming, but now it's finally here! (well, almost.) You'll be able to create your own profile, follow your friends' progress, and boast your own achievements. All this and more coming soon to a Poptropica near you! Well done, Creators.
In other news, Twisted Thicket Island is scheduled to open it's gates to Poptropica Members on a Thursday as usual: Thursday, April 12. Members can play the bonus quest at the end, and can snatch these three items to prepare for this island: Lumberjerk Costume, Troll, and Dryad Follower. This island just got a whole lot more interesting!
Also, have you noticed the Creators mentioning the lost island of Monster Carnival more and more often? Maybe that means it's coming back sometime soon. Is that too much to hope for? Anyway, have a nice weekend, everybody!
Could there really be another island after S.O.S??? And this sketch looks nearly finished... You know what you should do, Creators? Bring back Monster Carnival Island! NOW!!! Oh, by the way, I'm looking to recruit someone to keep the Journal updated. It's kinda tough running the entire site by myself, what with school starting up again and all... (help me!) So just remember, I'm keeping my eye out for a new staff member. Now allow me to get back to my ten miles of homework.
Also, this year I make resolutions to finish the Secrets section of my website, finish the Multiplayer Room Guide, and spell-check my island walkthroughs, if I can endure it.
This is Poptrickia, serving you tips, tricks, cheats and more on the awesome game Poptropica for free since 2010! We've got this blog (we call it the Journal), full written walkthroughs for every island and quest in existence, and videos too!
