Poptropica Land, which re-released to Members last Thursday, has been nothing but awesome so far. But there's just been one thing missing from it. To quote Spotted Dragon, ATP blogger, "you could share the world, but not the experience. What do I mean by that? I mean that it would have been even more amazing if you could join the world with your friends." Well, you can't have a multiplayer Land with your friends, but you can have the next best thing: a Land that hundreds of others will load and play and judge you on!
So Poptrickia is going to hold a "construction contest" for Poptropica Land! The theme of the contest is Obstacle Courses, but you can really do whatever you want. Keep reading for the rules and prizes!
Dizzy Popper's Labyrinth Here are the rules:
- Create an obstacle course that a Poptropican can navigate through. Mazes or labyrinths are good too.
- The course should be reasonably hard, but important part is that is's amusing and creative, not insanely difficult!
- You can include real hazards (lava, water, TNT, thorns, cacti) to make it harder.
- The course can span over multiple areas and can be in any biome and use any materials. You can also enter as many entries as you want, but you can only win once!
- At the end, there should be something awesome. By that, I mean a creative thing that you build that only people who complete the course can see. It can be a house, a ship, a car, anything! Here's some ideas.
The thing you put at the end is equally as important as the course itself. Don't stress over either part too much. Additionally, you can also enter your creation without an obstacle course, but it'll be less likely to win. Here's how you enter:
- Go to the hammer menu and click Save to get a .pop file of your world. Make sure your Poptropican is at the start of the obstacle course when you save it!
- Write an e-mail to [email protected]. Attach the POP file as an attachment, and tell me anything you want about your creation, like your name, Poptropica name, title of the course, inspiration, cheats on how to beat it if it's really hard, whether or not it's actually an obstacle course.
The magic of this contest is that after it's over, anyone can open the file for themselves and play around! Feel free to ask me through comment or Contact for help. The deadline for the competition is September 17, 2014. I haven't decided how to judge it yet, but most likely, at the end of the competition, I will let you guys vote on your favorite entries! The top three entries will get a post on Poptrickia along with anyone being able to download their POP file directly, and the winner gets all that plus a clone of the costume of any Poptropica account or Creator they choose! (To get the clone of a non-Creator you must know either the username or Avatar Studio link). Start building, Poptropicans!
